James J. Ellis, Chief Executive Officer
With a career spanning four decades, James J. Ellis began his journey in 1983, progressing from a field engineering intern to Vice President of Houston’s largest geotechnical engineering firm. Leveraging his expertise in geotechnical, environmental, civil, and structural disciplines, he founded Petra Engineering, a thriving company that served iconic national clients like Home Depot, Target, and Chick-fil-A before its successful acquisition by a national firm.
James transitioned to construction, founding Drijam Construction in Florida, where he spearheaded landmark projects, including the historic renovation of The Strand on South Beach and intricate church developments for the Catholic Diocese of Palm Beach. His visionary approach led to Arundel Design Build Contractors, LLC, now a cornerstone of Arundel Group Holdings, LLC, and the creation of ECG Site Services, offering comprehensive sitework and construction solutions.
In 2020, he established Arundel Development, positioning the firm as a dynamic partner in real estate ventures, including multi-family housing, recreational communities, and VRBO properties. James’s legacy is defined by innovative leadership, impactful partnerships, and a commitment to excellence in engineering, construction, and development.
Lia S. Ellis, Chief Development Officer
Lia S. Pennington-Ellis is a dynamic healthcare executive with over 19 years of proven success across ASC, acute, post-acute, and private practice settings. Beginning her career in orthopedic surgery practice management, Lia quickly distinguished herself by driving ancillary revenue growth through physician-owned ventures in ASCs, rehabilitation, DME, and imaging centers. Within six years, she orchestrated the largest orthopedic practice merger in Texas, setting a new benchmark for strategic practice consolidation.
In 2011, Lia founded Top Healthcare Strategies, Inc. (THCS), offering profit-focused consulting to private practices and ASC executives. Her projects included mergers, startups, and joint ventures, delivering tailored, high-impact solutions. In 2013, Lia’s career ascended further when she joined Envision Physician Services, the nation’s largest surgical group. Promoted from Regional Practice Director to Vice President of Surgical Services Operations, she managed 240+ surgeons and led multidisciplinary teams in executing strategic initiatives, enhancing physician culture, and optimizing patient care delivery and profitability.
Today, Lia combines her entrepreneurial acumen and corporate expertise to reimagine THCS under Arundel Group Holdings, LLC. This evolution expands THCS’s services to include medical office development, build-outs, and physician equity partnerships, positioning her as a visionary force in the healthcare industry.
